The certified translation is the one produced by a duly authorized translator, qualified by the Commercial Registry Office of the state where he performs his duties.
Any legal translation is valid all over the national territory as well as in several foreign countries, being recorded in a public register. The public translator certifies the coherence of the documents (originals and versions) for validation purposes all over the country or in Brazilian foreign consulates. The Law requires that all the documents written in a foreign language for submission in Court or to Federal, State or Municipal Public Offices, or to entities sustained, controlled or supervised by the Government, be publicly sworn translated.
Certified translations can also be required by foreign companies during their commercial transactions to homologate products, machinery or equipment, purchase land, strictly comply with processes and norms such as ISO, the Brazilian ABNT, etc. They are useful to investors, risk analyzers and quality control agencies, as well as institutes and universities, among others.
The appropriate prices are established by deliberation of the local Commercial Registry Offices.
Legal translations fees are subject to previous consultation.
The mastering of his or her own language, a reasonable knowledge of the original language and a good dose of common sense are the three necessary basic conditions to translate. Actually, translation is the best and may be the only efficient exercise which can help us to get into the intimacy of a great spirit.
